We currently have the Early Years stage (“Semillas”) open, and starting in September 2025, Terra will introduce the first Primary levels (“Brotes”). Enrolment is now open for children aged 3 to 8.
Over the coming years, we will gradually open additional educational levels. Our goal is to support children and young people from ages 3 to 17.
At Terra, our ratio is 1:10, with a maximum of ten children per facilitator. This allows for deep and meaningful connections to be formed with each child.
One of the pillars of our pedagogy is to provide personalised attention that respects the needs and rhythms of each individual. For this reason, our learning groups and spaces are carefully designed to deliver the highest quality educational experience.
We are located in Valldoreix (Barcelona). However, we are actively working to bring Conscious Education to other cities and countries.
If you are interested in bringing Terra to your area, please feel free to contact us.
Yes, Terra is accredited by the Departament d’Ensenyament of the Generalitat de Catalunya, ensuring our studies have official recognition.
Terra will develop educational programs in Spanish and English. In the case of Catalonia, Valencia, Galicia, the Basque Country and the Balearic Islands we offer a trilingual education. We apply the Content Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) methodology. Simultaneously we deal with content related to the curriculum while learning a foreign language. In this way we develop the competencies of different areas through communication.
Terra’s schedule runs from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. We offer a flexible arrival window from 8:30 AM to 9:00 AM to ensure a calm and relaxed start to the day. Similarly, there is a flexible departure window between 4:00 PM and 4:30 PM.
At Terra, we implement a unique and innovative pedagogy based on the 11 Dimensions of Conscious Education.
This approach considers all the areas in which our existence unfolds—emotional, spiritual, physical, social, communicative, artistic, scientific, entrepreneurial, creative, technological, and environmental. We believe these dimensions are essential for new generations to learn how to create a meaningful and fulfilling life.
Our pedagogy is grounded in active methodologies that combine various guidance strategies, placing children and young people at the centre of their own growth. This fosters rich learning experiences that are practical and applicable to real life.
Balancing and integrating different pedagogies and active methodologies allows us to foster richer and more meaningful learning experiences.
This approach is better suited to all students, as it takes into account the diverse ways in which each individual learns. Scientific studies show that providing various learning options encourages children to actively engage in their own educational process, enhancing their understanding of the world and themselves.
As an accredited school, we follow the official curriculum established by the Departament d’Ensenyament, ensuring that all essential content is covered. Additionally, we enrich the curriculum with the 11 Dimensions, addressing not only academic aspects but also the wide range of skills and competencies that make up each individual.
Furthermore, we track the learning process through our own evaluation system, which involves the child, their family, and the facilitators. This allows us to support their progress and development in a holistic and personalised way.
At all educational levels, we organise groups with mixed ages to promote social cohesion, respect for diversity, and participation. Homogeneous age groups are formed as needed to address individual requirements. Here’s how the groups are structured:
Roles within the groups change annually, along with the corresponding responsibilities. Over each cycle, children experience being the youngest, middle, and oldest members of their group. When they transition to the next cycle, they begin again, becoming the “youngest” of the higher level. This role rotation fosters empathy within the group and encourages a collaborative spirit.
Typically, workgroups consist of mixed-age groups. However, at certain times, groups are divided by age to facilitate more systematic work, such as literacy, mathematics, and personalised attention. The mixed-age groups are structured as follows:
Older students are grouped by biennia:
At Terra we all learn from each other. We use the term “learning coach” to emphasize the fact that their role is not only to transmit knowledge, but to coach children and adolescents in their development process. All of them have been (trans)formed with us and share 100% with our purpose and core values.
For Terra, “shoulds” become “wants”: spending time with the family, helping with shopping and chores at home, visiting a museum, enjoying volunteering to help others, inventing, going to the mountains, reading, smiling are some examples of what all children should do when they leave school. The fact that they continue activities that begin at school is part of a motivation and interest in the development of the school. Hence the term “wants”.
Send us an email to info@terraec.es and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Thank you for your interest.
